In this life we all face betrayal and disloyalty at the hands of people, many times by people we are very close to. So how do we have trust in our relationship and partnerships when our trust has been broken and violated? Being an Example in Humility
According to Romans 8:14-19, the entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters! What a responsibility to model and be a great example of humility as Christ Jesus is for us. Listen and posture your heart to say, “Follow me as I follow Christ.”
Humility is the Precursor
Humility is the one thing that has to be present to receive. It will open the way to discover all that He is and all He has given you. In this teaching Gretchen Cannon shares how humility towards God must be demonstrated in relationships with people, as well as, some characteristics of humility. Jesus knew everything that was coming against Him, and He chose to humble Himself and wash the disciples’ feet. In Philippians, Paul writes that we should have this same attitude that Jesus had. Blaming others won’t get us anywhere. Humility is the way we are designed to live.
Sanctified In Humility
To build a culture of honor, a major ingredient needed is humility. We learn humility from Christ according to Philippians 2:3-7 and His inward process of sanctification. Without His justification of us first though, the journey towards sanctification never begins!
Leading the Way In Honor
In Romans 12:9-14, Paul says we need to “In honor prefer one another,” which literally means “lead the way in, set the example in, and go first in showing honor to others.” This is so needed today in the America culture as well as every church culture. Too many seek to obtain honor rather than confer it! Listen and be blessed!
Not Letting the Brokenness of Others Break You!
In a culture swimming with dissention and division, the Holy Spirit invited God’s people to live above the fray by: 1) Fighting the right fight, 2) Using the right lens, and 3) Being Spiritually minded! The world is going to world, and the flesh is going to flesh, let us choose to walk by the Spirit and exude grace and gentleness to all!
Modeling Honor In A Culture Full of Dishonor!
In a culture that seems addicted to finding things to be offended about or argue over, the Spirit of the Lord is leading His people to find the dignity of every person and show them value. We are to avoid foolish arguments that only lead to strife and be gentle, kind, and caring to those around us, knowing God’s honor trumps the enemy’s appetite for dishonor!
Time To Shine!
In these challenging times in America, the Lord has called His people to shine! In shining we’re gonna do people right not wrong. We’re not gonna curse people but bless them. We aren’t going to feel sorry for ourselves but instead be poured out as a drink offering to bring healing and honor to those for whom Jesus has died!
